MonetizeNow and Rillet logos showing quote-to-cash flowing from CPQ and Billing into the Rillet general ledger

The short answer: Rillet has invoicing built in, but it is disconnected from your sales process. Reps quote minimums, AI credits, ramps, prorated amendments and co-terms from a separate catalog, and those terms are hard to carry through the CRM into Rillet. To automate billing on Rillet, treat CPQ and Billing as one problem, not two.

Key takeaways

  • Rillet, the AI-native ERP, excels at the general ledger and the month-end close, includes invoicing, and lists billing software for Rillet in its integrations directory.
  • Billing on Rillet gets hard when deal terms are quoted in one system and billed in another.
  • CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) and Billing work best as one system: one product catalog, one contract, one billing schedule.
  • MonetizeNow quotes and bills from the same record, then syncs customers, invoices, payments and credit memos to Rillet automatically.
  • Rillet stays your general ledger (GL), and your CRM stays your CRM.

I spent about a decade implementing NetSuite before I moved into sales, so I don't hand out ERP compliments lightly. Rillet is the real deal: a modern general ledger, AI agents that do actual accounting work like booking journal entries, and a close built to shrink toward zero days. Finance teams love it, and so do we. Still, the question I hear most from finance teams on Rillet is some version of this: "Rillet does invoicing, so why is billing still so manual?" Rillet isn't the problem. The handoff is.

What billing software works with Rillet?

Billing software works with Rillet in two ways. Rillet has invoicing built in, including invoice schedules generated from contract details, usage invoicing by API or CSV upload, and a native Stripe integration. Rillet also lists a long bench of billing partners in its integrations directory, and those tools send their invoices into Rillet's general ledger.

You can see the native side on Rillet's accounts receivable page. One of the partners is MonetizeNow, an AI-native Quote-to-Revenue solution for B2B SaaS covering CPQ, Billing, Usage Metering and Revenue Recognition. MonetizeNow's Rillet listing describes how quotes, invoices and payments move into Rillet.

So the useful question isn't which tools connect to Rillet. Plenty do. The useful question is where your deal terms live before they ever reach Rillet.

Why is billing still manual for teams on Rillet?

Billing stays manual for teams on Rillet because invoicing sits downstream of the sales process. Rillet's core competency is the ledger and the close, not the deal desk. Sales quotes from a separate catalog and negotiates usage minimums, AI credits, ramped pricing, prorated amendments and co-terms. Those terms have to travel through Salesforce or HubSpot before they reach Rillet, and a CRM deal was never built to carry them.

Rillet's own HubSpot integration is a good design for clean deals: closed-won deals, products and line items sync into Rillet as contracts, and they land as Pending Approval so finance can review them. The catch is what a CRM deal can actually hold. It knows the products, the amounts and the dates. It doesn't know the deal the rep actually sold:

  • a usage minimum with overage pricing above it
  • prepaid AI credits that draw down over the term
  • a three-year ramp with a different price each year
  • a mid-term upsell that needs proration
  • an add-on co-termed to an existing renewal date

The rep sold a ramp. The CRM saw a number. The invoice got a guess. Every one of those terms turns into a judgment call for whoever builds the invoice, which is a big part of why SaaS billing is so hard in the first place.

One finance team I worked with this year ran HubSpot, a separate billing tool, a quote document tool, spreadsheets and Rillet side by side. Their Controller summed it up: "We just have four different names in four different systems right now sometimes." Early renewal credits were built by hand as separate credit memos, and they never tied out.

Why should CPQ and Billing be one problem, not two?

CPQ and Billing should be one problem because the quote is the contract, and the invoice is the contract on a schedule. When Quoting and Billing share one product catalog and one contract record, every term the rep sells bills exactly as quoted, and an amendment changes that same contract instead of creating a new one for finance to reconcile.

Think about a restaurant. The kitchen cooks from the same ticket the customer ordered from. When the table adds dessert, the server adds it to that ticket. Nobody hands the order to the bookkeeper to retype. The books get the receipt at the end of the night.

That is where Rillet shines: the receipt gets booked automatically, the ledger stays current and the close moves fast. The ticket belongs with the people taking the order.

For the person working accounts receivable, one record means:

  • the invoice matches the signed order form line for line
  • proration on an upsell or downsell is calculated by the system, not a spreadsheet
  • credits for an amendment are created in the same system that holds the contract, not in a side spreadsheet
  • the audit trail runs from quote to invoice to the general ledger without a gap

A finance team on Rillet that lived through this put it simply. Their VP of Finance said: "I'd also like it to show up in Rillet, but I want MonetizeNow to be the master."

How does quote-to-cash work with MonetizeNow and Rillet?

Quote-to-cash with MonetizeNow and Rillet runs in one direction: quote, bill, book. Reps build the quote in MonetizeNow from the same catalog Billing uses. The signed quote becomes the contract and syncs to your CRM. MonetizeNow invoices on the billing schedule set by that contract, then syncs the results to Rillet's general ledger.

If you want the bigger picture first, here's what quote-to-cash covers. With Rillet, the flow looks like this:

  1. Quote. The rep builds the quote in MonetizeNow, connected to Salesforce, HubSpot or Attio. Pricing rules and approvals apply before it goes out.
  2. Sign. The buyer starts e-signature from the MonetizeNow quote link, and the quote becomes the contract.
  3. Bill. MonetizeNow generates invoices from the contract's billing schedule, including usage, minimums and credits.
  4. Book. Customers, invoices, applied payments and credit memos sync to Rillet automatically.

Here is what the MonetizeNow and Rillet integration sends, per the MonetizeNow Rillet documentation:

  • Accounts become Rillet customers, and account updates keep syncing.
  • Invoices become Rillet invoices, with each line matched to a Rillet product.
  • Payments applied to invoices become Rillet payments.
  • Credits and credit notes become Rillet credit memos.

The sync runs one way, from MonetizeNow to Rillet, so there is exactly one place to change a deal. Setup is short: generate an API key in Rillet, connect it in MonetizeNow's accounting settings, then map your products and subsidiaries.

Can you use MonetizeNow for Quoting only with Rillet?

Yes. Some teams start with Quoting in MonetizeNow and keep invoicing in Rillet. Rillet runs this way itself: Rillet uses MonetizeNow for Quoting so its reps keep their speed while finance gets consistent, approved quotes on a high volume of new orders, and Rillet keeps its own billing in Rillet.

Quoting on its own fixes the front door: a clean catalog, guardrails and approvals before anything reaches finance. When pricing grows into usage, credits and mid-term changes, adding MonetizeNow Billing on the same catalog finishes the job without changing anything in Rillet.

What should you look for in billing software for Rillet?

Look for billing software for Rillet that shares a product catalog and contract record with your CPQ, handles usage and mid-term changes without workarounds, and syncs cleanly into Rillet. Integration alone is table stakes, since many tools send invoices to Rillet. The real difference is whether the invoice still matches the quote.

  • One catalog with Quoting. The products reps sell are the products Billing invoices, with no mapping between two catalogs.
  • Contract-based amendments. Upsells, downsells, early renewals and co-terms change the existing contract, with proration calculated for you.
  • Usage, minimums and AI credits. Commitments, overages and prepaid credit drawdown bill from the terms on the quote.
  • Billing schedule on the quote. The schedule is generated with the quote, so nobody types invoice dates into the terms and conditions.
  • Clean Rillet sync. Customers, invoices, payments and credit memos flow to Rillet and map to the right subsidiaries.
  • Your CRM, either way. Salesforce, HubSpot or Attio, so a CRM decision never forces a billing decision.

Frequently asked questions

Does Rillet have built-in billing?

Yes. Rillet includes invoicing: it generates invoice schedules from contract details, supports usage invoicing by API or CSV upload, sends automated payment reminders and integrates natively with Stripe. Teams with simple subscription contracts often bill directly in Rillet. Billing isn't Rillet's core competency, though. Rillet is built first for the general ledger, the close and AI-driven accounting, so teams whose reps quote complex terms usually pair Rillet with billing software tied to their CPQ.

Do I need a CPQ if Rillet already does invoicing?

You need a CPQ if reps quote anything beyond a list price and a start date. A CPQ controls what reps can sell, at what discount and with what approvals. Rillet invoices what it receives, so the quality of the invoice depends on the quality of the quote. See our guide to the best CPQ for Salesforce for how the options compare.

Does MonetizeNow sync two-way with Rillet?

No. The MonetizeNow and Rillet sync runs one way, from MonetizeNow to Rillet. Customers, invoices, applied payments and credit memos flow into Rillet automatically. That keeps every deal change in one place, MonetizeNow, while Rillet receives the accounting result and remains the general ledger for your close.

Which CRMs work with MonetizeNow and Rillet?

MonetizeNow integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot and Attio, and Rillet connects to Salesforce and HubSpot. MonetizeNow doesn't replace your CRM or your ERP. MonetizeNow sits between them: quotes sync to the CRM, and invoices, payments and credit memos sync to Rillet.

Does Rillet use MonetizeNow?

Yes. Rillet uses MonetizeNow for Quoting and keeps its own billing in Rillet. MonetizeNow is also listed in Rillet's integrations directory, so Rillet customers can connect MonetizeNow CPQ and Billing directly to the Rillet general ledger.
